Delivery and postage

FREE SHIPPING WITHIN AUSTRALIA – when you spend $200 (AUD) on full price items. Free Shipping does not apply on sale items, unusually bulky items or promotional campaigns.

Please note that we do not send shoe boxes unless specifically requested to do so. Sending shoe boxes may increase the cost to you of postage.

Australian Customers

All of our parcels are sent via Australia Post. We charge a flat rate of $12 for parcels sent within Australia using Express Post (subject to change in line with changes in Australia Post costs).

In most cases, we process orders within 1 working day. If there is any significant delay (which would be unusual) we will contact you as soon as possible.

Australia post express post satchels generally result in overnight delivery (weekdays only, orders placed over the weekend or on public holidays will be posted / received the next working day). Locations outside capital cities and major regional centre’s may take an extra working day. Very remote locations will take longer.

If your payment has been deferred because your parcel is bulky and cannot be sent by Australia Post Express Post, we will notify you to make alternative shipping arrangements and confirm the total cost of your order, including shipping, as soon as possible. We will charge you the same cost charged to us by Australia Post. Bulk parcels sent by regular (non-express) Australia post will take up to 7 working days but may take longer for non-metro areas.

An additional freight charge will apply when customers request insurance or registration, which will be determined and notified to you prior to final payment in conjunction with Australia Post fees.

International Customers

International parcels are sent by airmail. We will charge you the same cost charged to us by Australia Post. Prior to payment, the cost of postage will be confirmed with you.

Please note that heavy / bulky items will incur additional charges to international customers, which will be determined prior to payment. International customers will be responsible for local duties and taxes.

Additional charges will apply for registered airfreight and insurance to international customers, which will be determined prior to payment.

All Customers

Please note that we do not accept responsibility for delays in delivery due to unforeseen circumstances.

All orders sent by sent by Express Post have a unique tracking code. If for some reason your parcel does not arrive within a reasonable time please contact us and we will track it for you.

If you wish to choose a cheaper and slower postage option, please contact us to discuss the options.

You are more than welcome to collect your order from our Sydney store. There is no charge for this.

Charges are a guide only, and are subject to change at the discretion of The Kids Room, including in circumstances in which postage charges change.

Note all prices are quoted in $AUD.

Returns

We want you to be as relaxed and happy shopping in our online store as you would be in our Sydney store so, if for any reason an item is not what you expected, it can be returned for an exchange or credit note.

Please be especially careful in choosing sale and discounted items as we do not credit or exchange these items if you change your mind or make an incorrect decision.

Please note that an item will only be accepted for an exchange or credit note under the following conditions:

  • The item is unused, unworn and in brand new condition with packaging intact and the original labels attached.
  • A copy of a valid invoice is included with the return.
  • The item is returned within 21 days of the receipt date.
  • A return authority has been obtained.

A credit or exchange will not be accepted if you cannot satisfy the above requirements, unless we otherwise determine.

How to make a return for exchange or credit note

Step 1 – Make sure that you meet all the conditions above.

Step 2 – Contact The Kids Room at thekidsroom@bigpond.com or on +61 2 9328 6864 to get a return authority and advise which items you would like to return or exchange and whether you are seeking an exchange or credit note.

Step 3 – Return the item/s to be exchanged or credited and, if you are exchanging items, include an appropriately-sized self-addressed Express Post satchel for your new items to be returned in. If you are exchanging items from outside Australia, you do not need to include an Express Post satchel but you will have to pay for the return postage to your residence.

Faulty Items and Damages

All items are properly checked before sending and packaged with care. In the unlikely event that you receive an item that is faulty or damaged please contact thekidsroom@bigpond.com or call +61 2 9328 6864 to discuss a replacement.

Please note: in all instances, The Kids Room not only satisfies but goes above and beyond its obligations under relevant consumer legislation.

Sizing

We would like to give you a general size chart but it probably would not be very helpful – definitely not as helpful as calling our friendly and experienced staff! All our brands differ, some bigger and some smaller. If you are not familiar with a brand or have doubts about the size you should buy please give us a call on +61 2 9328 6864 or email thekidsroom@bigpond.com and we can give you specific advice on styles, fit and size.
